Abstract:
This article is the result of a research project on the implementation of a video class withthe incorporation of independent work in biology at the pre-university course. It is developed in one of this type of centers. It shows one of the key outcomes, related to the diagnosis carried out. Its main objective aims at determining the problems that usually occur in a video class, in particular with independent work, considered as a method that complements the use of that resource. The reason why the emphasis is placed on student’s independent work is the decrease of the teacher’s contact time. Several analytical techniques and empirical methods such asobservation, interviews to teachers, and student surveys were applied. They were complemented with theoretical methods, such as the review of information sources to identify the theoretical underpinnings.
