Abstract: This study attempts to know how body image and daily life events, intended to diminish or increase self-esteem in children who attend a public school in the Province of San Luis (Argentina) are assessed. A workshop,
in which psychological strategies were used for its assessment and promotion, was implemented as a pedagogic technique. The sample was
made up of 24 pupils of both genders, aged 11-13. A quasi-experimental study was performed in just one group. For the analysis of the results, a descriptive - comparative design was selected. Results indicated that the
positive changes produced in the body image self-assessment mainly in girls in the post-intervention reveal that the psychological applied tools (“The self-esteem game”, “We reflect on the self-esteem game”, “Body image
acceptance “ and “ the body image acceptance exercise: final reflections”) are adequately accepted by the children and are useful for the problems they face at a certain age. This investigation is framed within the PROIPRO
4-0010 project, San Luis National University.
