Abstract:
From a perspective that focuses on the theory of imaginaries, this work attempts to explore the emergence of new meanings in relation to the class otherness, linked to feelings of fear at the level of social meanings, the dominant ideology and the senses that supply and widespread the media. The relevance of this work lies in the current social experience of conflict, magnified and diversified in the urban world, which opens the doors to changes in the mental space of people. Their bodies, feelings and emotions are shaped through new imaginaries that condense and materialize feelings of insecurity and fear in different spaces, individuals and processes. Taking part in this dynamics, the popular classes seem to assume the incarnation of the fear; a harmful figuration in many senses, although not necessarily conspiratorial or mechanical.
