Abstract: Work is inherent to human being. They are the main actors in any activity.
Organizations are formed by people who make the tasks, both with succeeds
and mistakes. In the current social-political and technological context,
human resources are an relevantly notorious strategic variable. This acknowledgment
includes, among many other, the staff selection process made
in a professional and responsible fashion. This process must be instituted as
a valid tool to contribute to make unnatural those rooted aspects that attempt
against subject’s bio-psycho-social integrity. This means that organizations
must develop and promote among their members the innovation,
responsibility, and self-determination capability, as well as an adequate selfesteem
level. This is known technically as competence management. When
the psychologist, who is specialized in the working and organization fields
intervenes in the staff selection process has a technical tool which he/she
must know and manage with dexterity: the interview. This, together with other
techniques will allow him/her to understand and manage the selection process
as a dynamic and constructive action. In doing so, different psychological
processes which are needed to be known and managed are active.
