Abstract: This work is aimed at showing how psychology can favor processes of mental health in students of teacher training programs when being accompanied
since the beginning of their pre-professional practices to become teachers. The coordinating role of the “reflection workshop”, as a pedagogical device forprompting changes, proposes actions that tend to achieve the exchange of meanings, awareness, understanding, the development of interpretations and initiation of reflectionprocesses by the participants.
The role of psychology is to coordinate and articulate the expectations that students construct in relation to their practices and their own potentials and abilities, as well as their fantasies, through the narrative of the
experience and a reflexive process about theirpractices. The psychology works as a tool that energizes the relationshipstaking placeamong learner, educator and knowledge. It also socializes the individual experiences, making
explicit the ways in which the sense of educational cultural life is built.
