Abstract: Interdisciplinary professional work, either public or private, is characterized by a functioning with a linked modality that operates in the praxis as
a whole, forming an interweaving of communication, establishing bridges in the approach to the subject as a bio-psycho-social-cultural integrity.
This is essential in the treatment of the individuals who got diabetes, in relation to their future life preventionas well asthat of their descendants.
In the framework of the researchproject Proico 4-2-8904: “Psychology for health. Interdisciplinary perspectives on the prevention and training
ofhealth professionals (diabetes and hypertension)”, this work seeks to reflect on and present some proposals, from a psychological perspective, about the benefits that would entail a true interprofessional practice in the
treatment of the person who is suffering from this chronic disease. The data of two clinical cases, obtained from the first psychological semi-structured interviews, are analyzed, showing, in the treatment to be followed, the
absence of interprofessionalwork which could promote a better quality of life in these subjects.
